Nothing says giving back to your community than a little creativity and a whole lot of color. Instead of simply accepting the unpleasant look of an overpass, the city council of Rotterdam took it upon themselves to spruce up this local danger zone area by adding candy color pink to their viaduct system.
The progressive minded policy makers called upon the Dutch company Mothership, and resident artist duo Transister (also known as Nelleke Boerkoel and Hanneke van Leeuwen) from Shop Around production agency to pull off this larger than life commision. Located in the area of Kralingen-Crooswijk township, the project portrays the true essence of the young people that live and thrive within the neighborhood. We say, community beautification is wonderful thing. Giving back never looked so bright!
