GBH along with Cheeky and Indayo presented a bass driven line up last Friday, November 12th held at Webster Hall in NYC. DJs Skrillex, Huoratron, and Felguk, were brought together for a night of hard hitting beats driving the crowd intro a state of euphoria. Finnish artist Huoratron who is currently signed with Last Gang performed first, with his brand of grindcore and heavy electronic concrete sound. Rocking his dome back and forth, he favored more dub style tracks with minimal vocals. The Brazilian electronic duo Felguk (Gustavo Rozenthal and Felipe Lozinsky) took to the stage with a remixed version of Madonna’s “Celebration” feel good love remix. This Portuguese pair jumped right in with an energy driven blend of electro style house.

With intense heat brought on by a packed house ready for more, Skrillex aka Sonny Moore ended the night with a highly interactive set to be remembered. The recent release of his anticipated new 9-song EP entitled “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites” has been gaining momentum blowing up the Beatport charts with his brand of unique Dubstep that’s breaking all the rules. We can understand why, as the post-hardcore frontman formerly of L.A. based band First To Last craftfully blends a selection of frenetic rhythms into big sound worthy anthems. Skrillex’s beats were potent with remixes of the Black Eyed Peas track “Rock That Body” as well as Lady Gaga’s “Alejandro” to name a few. Skrillex set the audience into such a frenzy, that he stage dove into the crowd in the middle of his set. Truly an amazing evening. Skrillex is currently on tour in select cities in the U.S. and Canada. Visit the Skrillex Myspace for details.
