North London producers Matt Robson-Scott & Kye Gibbon otherwise known as Gorgon City have teamed up with fellow British singer MNEK to release Ready For Your Love set to release off of Black Butter/Virgin EMI on January 19th in 2014. At the age of 19 MNEK has already written international house music chart toppers that include Duke Dumont’s “Hold On”, “Need U” (100%) as well as Rudimental’s “Baby” and “Spoons”. Gorgon City are currently on tour and will be making a stop at Slake in NYC on Saturday, December 7th.
French singer, songwriter and director Yoann Lemoine otherwise known as Woodkid releases a haunting acoustic version of Iron from his debut studio album The Golden Age. Born in Lyon in 1983, he studied illustration and animation at the Emile Cohl School before landing jobs on Luc Besson’s Arthur and the Invisibles and Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette. The UK-born Amsterdam-based producer will follow his recent hit with ‘Everything You Never Had (We Had It All)’ feat. Andreya Triana, set for release in the US via Ninja Tune/Big Beat/Atlantic Records on November 12th. Another infectious floor filler and sure to be another DJ set staple, the track plays host to the honeyed vocals of soulful UK songstress Andreya Triana who has previously collaborated with Bonobo and Flying Lotus.
We rarely get excited, but this is an exception. After 3 years, Canadian electrofunk duo Chromeo return with their fourth album White Women and 2 minute teaser entitled “Over Your Shoulder”. Sexy, sophisticated, funk grooves set the tone for the new single directed by Jérémie Rozan. We can only guess what the rest of the album will sound like. Stay tuned for more.
Los Angeles based duo Classixx and Urban Outfitters have released the video for the good feeling summer vibe of “All You’re Waiting For” featuring Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem living the yacht life with with her own deckhands, puppies and a cameo appearance by Michael and David.
