For the most part, those crate digging era’s are long gone and replaced by the ever growing and overwhelming options of new push button technology. 2013 has proven to be a big year for Guy and Howard Lawrence of the brotherly duo Disclosure, but things heat up more as they announce their return to the US for a headlining tour this fall. Disclosure have already garnered plenty of praise from their early singles “White Noise” and “Latch” have had a sold out spring US tour including well received sets closing this year’s Coachella Festival and SXSW. This summer also bring anticipated sets at HARD LA and Red Rocks, Lollapalooza, Osheaga and a headlining slot at Central Park Summerstage.

For us and like many others, New York City will always remain as one of the pioneer cities to birth new music and culture. After the fall of ’90’s club scene during the Giuliani redevelopment era came a new trend on nightlife- the push-button DJ along with VIP table and bottle service. Many will say it was the beginning of the end. Like most trends there is a cycle of dormancy before they reappear for the next generation, but the foundation always remains the same- paying tribute to the old and merely reinventing the sound wheel under new forms of technology along with the chance to reawaken the senses for a whole new crop of music lovers.
